Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by KLynn from Ok Honestly, didn't like the first one but then I read the second and third and then went back and reread it. Was happy that I did. Stick with the series.

I had hard time figuring out what this book is. Is it crime? The story is a page turner and Stephanie is such a fun person. The chemistry between her and Joe Morelli was fantastic. I definitely want to see more of them.

Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by Kaytee from No. Hated this book. I tried to read it after receiving a recommendation about it, but it was completely terrible writing, awful characters. Stephanie Plum has to be the most idiotic heroine I have read to date.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Heather from Start this series! Start this series, you'll be glad you did! I love Janet's writing, humor and adventure in each book she writes. With awesome characters and story lines you wont want to put it down!

You feel like you know them very quickly. A great "beach read". Holds your attention while not too serious. Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by Booklover from Outrageous This price is outrageous! Good series, not worth this price point.

Skip first and move on, it's highway robbery. Should be ashamed of this price Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by Marla from Really??????? The price of this book is outrageous. I like many of her books but would never in a million years download this particular one at this price. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Becki from Excellent series Not sure what the e-book pricing is about - hope there's a hard cover autographed copy that follows in the mail.

In the meantime watch the movie on Netflix, it's a pretty decent adaptation of the book. That being said, this is an excellent series. Stephanie Plum is my kind of girl, and her grandma is a trip. The writing is fantastic, and the reader will often burst out laughing, so don't read this in a public place if you embarrass easily.

The characters are very endearing. Couldn't put the book down. Best cozy mystery. Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by AO from Seriously? Pricing is outrageous. We're not talking mind expansion or literary craftsmanship, but for entertainment value, Janet Evanovich really nails it. A very sordid tale out of the lower-income 'burbs of New Jersey-- lowbrow fun. It is first in the series about Stephanie Plum, a down-on-her-luck girl who decides to take up bountyhunting to make ends meet.

It is a good light-hearted mystery which makes me want to read the entire series. I just love the way Evanovich writes, and being more of a fantasy romance reader, I wasn't sure initially if I would enjoy this book, I was very wrong! One for the Money had me captivated and in fits of laughter.

It had a good storyline and fun characters. She lives in the suburbs of New Jersey, and dances around the question of whether she wants to bed Joe Morelli again -- the local cop who stole her virginity when she was young and foolish, and then wrote about it on the bathroom walls and the stadium bleachers.

She got revenge years later by almost running him down with a Buick.

No cream puff here, she is also not exactly an expert at being a "fugitive apprehension agent". More like an apprehensive agent, and the descriptions are hilarious.

Yep, her cop foil and first-love is wanted for allegedly shooting an unarmed suspect. Morelli claims there were other guys in the apartment, and there was a gun, but that doesn't change the fact that Plum needs to bring him in to get the money. And she isn't experienced enough to match wits with him for most of the book.

But she has help from a lot of extra support characters -- Ranger, the experienced bounty-hunter; Vincent, the bail bondsman; and Plum's family. I was looking forward to finding another author to read. However I only read the first 10 pages of this book. Stephanie is molested at age 6 by an 8 yr old boy. This same boy takes advantage of her as a teenager.
