Cisco Networking Book

Yet, few books are aimed at those who are beginning a career in IT--until now. Cisco Networking Essentials provides a solid foundation on the Cisco networking . Layer 3 switching, and routing. • Identify the layers of the OSI model. • Describe the functionality of LAN, MAN, and WAN networks. • Identify the possible media. Without any networking knowledge u must start with Network + exam book/ course or even old non-cisco home networking book. You do not.

From my experience, there are plenty of differences in studying with books vs online article. With a book, the content structure leads the reader from the introduction to the conclusions, optimising the flow for an effective reading. Online articles are a great way to quickly check concepts and details, but they are not the way to learn complex topics such as networking. I strongly believe that having the right book for a topic is fundamental to cover all the details and be prepared for the unexpected! And by the way, if you need help in passing a Network Engineer job interview, check this out! Please feel free to comment at the end of this article, if you have suggestions. Wendell Odom signed another masterpiece in the network certification space.

What I most like about Tanenbaum is his writing style. He's informed, accurate and engaging.

The book isn't cheap, but neither are Cisco Press books. Computer Networks 5th Edition: Andrew S. Tanenbaum, David J. Thank you for that.

Indeed, it isn't cheap. But for sure, it is also a great book for beginners. Get yourself the OCG's first. You need to have an idea what exactly you are going to study. You're going to have to go through the books more than once.

Do your first reading with the OCG and second reading or third reading with Todd Lammle's CCNA book and along with this do your research and attend to your curiosity by using google. Once you have an idea of what you need to know, you're going to have to dig deeper to get a solid understanding of the foundation concepts. The book "tcp ip guide" by charles m kozierok helped me to a great extent and I would recommend it.

No one book is going to give you complete information.

The most basics information that you need to know is at your disposal on google. It would be a waste spending money on getting something that covers fundamental information. I just checked the contents of Computer Networking First-Step, seems like a good book, very dramatically scripted.

But IMO, get the index from that book, and google that information. LAN Switching and Wireless: All the CCNA guide books, including this one, are among the best when it comes to explaining networking.

At a low cost, it appears to be concise and direct to the point. It furnishes a good and exhaustive discussion on the subject.
