As the full title says, it's a guide to the myths and legends rather than the stories themselves. The main part of the book runs through some Greek history, with maps, and background information on characters and stories that gives more context.

I'd say it was mainly written for year-olds. Bought as a joke gift for my dad as we are rubbish at Greek mythology clues in crosswords. Looks like it will be helpful. Arrived quickly and as shown.

Well written book with beautiful illustrations, ideal for youngsters interested in these types of tales. Bought for a friend who likes Greek myths and Rodney Matthews, was not disappointed.

Great book for a 9yr old - a bit more grown up than the other Usborne options. Slimmer book than I'd expected, but still very pleased with it. Great service and product exactly as described.

Ancient Greek Myths & Legends

Excellent value for money. Nice book very interesting. Good book for school project. It was the moment of my enlightenment. And I've loved this book deeply from the second I first closed its cover until today. I finished reading it to our twins last night. To hear them talk today, they are in love with the book themselves, though I doubt it can be felt as deeply as my love for the book.

The 10 Best Greek Mythology Books - Norse Mythology for Smart People

They have parents who've been answering their questions -- about gods, life, death, where babies come from, about anything -- since they were asking questions.

They haven't needed to find that power for themselves, we've pointed the way to that power from the start. Still, they love this book, and I hope they share it with their kids if they choose to have kids in turn.

D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths is a marvellous book full of marvellous stories, and now the Greek playwrights and poets and philosophers await. Medea first? Or should it be The Iliad? I think I will let the twins decide.
