I really liked this one. Airborn is about a cabin boy on an passenger air ship. It takes place in an alternate history of our world - so it may be classified as fantasy, but it is not really a fantasy story - it's an adventure story. Has an 's or maybe Edwardian feel. It might appear to be more of a "boy book", but there is a main character who is a girl, so there's someone girls can relate to, and a bit of wholesome romance. I wouldn't assume girls wouldn't like this one.

This novel book is about Matt Cruse life. The life he has always dreamed of like a cabin boy on the Aurora. One night he meets a dying balloonist who speaks of beautiful creatures drifting through the skies who are completely real and utterly mysterious. I like that this novel book was an adventure and it was really interesting. The main character is Matt Cruse who was perched atop the crow's nest, being the ship's eyes. Matt Cruse had run into lots and several times of problems, mysterious, and adventure.

My favorite character was Kate. Kate is really kind, nice, but sometimes, she's charismatic and a bit of bloodthirstiness. Before I start to read this book, I thought this book will be too long and boring, but when they fell into adventure and mysterious, it was interesting to read, and I read this book faster than other books.

Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by JiWon from I liked it! The novel, Airborn is about a sailmaker life in the Aurora. The book Airborn was published in and it was the top ten best book for young adults.

There are lots of problems happening during traveling around the world. The main character is Matt Cruse, he is 12 years old but he is very weak and light. Matt is working as a sailmaker doing lots of supporting to the Airship serving food, tour, holding luggage. There are lots of situation which makes your heart bump while reading the chapter.

I really liked reading the novel because it is very adventurous and I also learned how life is being in the past. I really like the character, Matt because he is very brave and never gives up to achieve his goal. Not giving up was amazing to read. I felt the novel would take us long to finish the book but it was too bad that it finished fast. Airborn is a fantasy adventure and a spice of romance novel written from a famous author Kenneth Oppel.

Most action taking place with an Aurora airship. Matt Cruse is the main character he is one of the crew members on Aurora sailing hundreds of feet above the ocean and city to city. He always convinces himself as his lighter than air. One night a balloonist started explaining a Wonderful mysterious creature as Matt is going to discovering the creatures with facing the furious mighty pirate. That how they fly to the pages.

I beloved the main character Matt Cruse of his character and I highly recommend this novel who adore adventure novels. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by SenP from The Best of the Best Books Recently, I read a novel which was written by an author of internationally, best-selling silver trilogy, Kenneth Oppel. It was a book called Airborn, it's a book about an adolescent called Matt Cruse working and falling in love with a girl named Kate de Vries in an airship called Aurora.

Matt was the cabin boy who is small and as light as air. Airborn is a book that tells us how an adolescent experience hardships at a young age.

The part when Matt gets jealous because it was humorous and Matt acted like he's not even though it can easily be spotted by how he talks.

Airborn is a type of book would be perfect for someone who's an adventurous and romantic person.

Airborn is a very fascinating book to read. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Carder from A review after reading this book with our class Our class really liked this book! I think this book is very good for young people to read because It has a unique story of an adventure of a cabin boy called Matt Cruse, and a passenger who is called Kate de Vries, finding a flying creature. I also like this book because this book have some characters that are pretty easy for the target audiences to relate with because the main characters have similar age with them.

However, I think the book is a little bad for the target audience too because it gets a little violent at the end.

I also think that the book is a little bad for kids because there are some words that are in the book which are a little bit hard for them, so they might not understand some words in the sentence.

However, this book is a very good book and our class really enjoyed it, and would also like to read another book of this author if we have a chance. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by CoachLarry from Exciting and Fun Adventure with a Twist of Romance Airborn was great book to read as the Author Kenneth Oppel was very descriptive and makes you feel you are part of the Adventures. From traveling through the air in the Aurora, to escaping pirates on an uninhabited Island, Matt and Kate were always ready for an adventure and leaving you excited to read the next page or chapter.

I highly recommended this Novel if you seek adventure and thrill. Kenneth Oppel's writing is very appropriate and he makes it very easy to visualize the various interactions and challenges that arise in the novel. I look forward to reading the trilogy.
